Splendour of the Preachers, The

This book is written for preachers and for those in training as preachers, and will be particularly useful for those preparing homilies based on Roman and Common Lectionary readings for use at the Sunday Eucharist and other liturgical services. The author draws upon the insights of the Second Vatican Council on the place of homily in the Liturgy. He also finds inspiration in the North American "New Homiletic," inviting preachers to examine and experiment with a range of innovative strategies so as to engage in preaching that comes alive in the imagination of their hearers. Examples of the author's own homilies illustrate the application of his approach.
