Pilgrim in Britain

Pope Benedict XVI's long-awaited visit to Great Britain has produced a significant body of reflections on matters of great importance not only to Christians who live in these isles, but also to those of other faiths and of none. His beatification of Cardinal John Henry Newman, the saintly and prodigious contributor to Catholic life and thought since his life in Victorian times, is the first such event since the English Reformation.
